AndyLoos will be the main sponsor in an attempt to set a new record for running a marathon while dressed as a toilet in London on 13th April 2014. “From experience, I know Andyloos always manage to get toilets to the right place at the right time so with their support I’m sure to be the prime privy” Commented Marcus Mumford who is taking on this quite unique challenge.
This will be an attempt to set the inaugural Guinness Word Record for covering the marathon distance in one of the famous WaterAid toilet costumes, but don’t think this will be an easy challenge to set a token time as Marcus is not the only brave bog attempting this record. There will actually be two speedy cisterns out on the course vying to take the coveted title meaning that training will be hard and competition on the streets of London fierce. Guinness have also laid down a bench mark of 4 hours that has to be beaten for the record to qualify.
“The trials and tribulations that I will be putting myself through during my journey to the finish line on the Mall will help raise money for the charity WaterAid. The main aims of this fantastic cause are to improve sanitation, and provide clean water supplies and health education to some of the world’s poorest communities. WaterAid works in 27 countries worldwide, transforming millions of lives every year. It costs just £15 per head to provide safe water, sanitation and hygiene education and for every £1 invested, £8 is returned in productivity.” Explained Marcus

“Huge thanks to AndyLoos for their support. I’ll be posting updates via twitter in the run up to the big day @marcusmumford2. ”
Adam Houchen Andyloos MD explained their involvement “Marcus is an established amateur athlete in his own right, and although he is dressed as a toilet, this is a serious attempt at a world record while in the process raising money for a worthy cause. We are not only proud to be associated with Marcus’ attempt, we are really looking forward to seeing a toilet sponsored by Andyloos battling it out down the final straight of the Mall for a World record time.”
