The United Kingdom is struggling with a massive housing shortage, as a method to combat this issue over 45,000 new home building workers will be trained by 2019 as an initiative by the Construction Industry Training Board and the Builder’s Federation.
The house building industry created 181,000 new homes last year, this is an increase of 25% year on year. Unfortunately with an ever growing population this is not near enough to handle the surplus of people.
After the global economic downturn back in 2009 in which the industry took a colossal hit, the largest of the housing construction companies have increased their output by 50%. Although that is positive the rest of the industry is looking to government to help initiate systems which will also help them grow faster too.
The government have set a goal to create one million new homes by 2020, if they are to achieve this ambitious goal they will have to have all sectors of Construction and Supply unified and up-to-date on training.
The current economic climate has investors worries about parting with their cash, but it’s time to step up to the line or deal with the collapse of the housing market, buyers are slowly pushed out of the market through decreasing supply and increasing demand.
